Lowe’s Grove Athletics’ Teams Support Breast Cancer Awareness |

In memory of Kay Yow, the legendary women's basketball coach at N.C. State, Lowe's Grove student athletes have been wearing their pink. The pink shoelaces worn by the basketball teams and the pink ribbons worn by the cheerleaders and step team not only honor the memory of Coach Yow and her inspiring legacy, they also support the breast cancer awareness campaign. The students witnessed college and professional teams wearing pink to raise awareness and asked if they could join in to offer their support. We are proud of our student-athletes for dedicating their support to a tremendous cause and honoring the inspirational legacy of such a great coach and teacher.

Ms. Bowser named Lowe's Grove Teacher of the Year |
|
Ms. Jamila M. Bowser has been named Lowe's Grove Teacher of the Year for 2008/.
This means that Ms. Bowser will go on to represent Lowe's Grove as a candidate for the Durham Public Schools Teacher of the Year; who then goes on to represent Durham Public Schools as a candidate for the State of NC Teacher of the Year later in 2009.
